In what ways was Mandela's job as the President of a nation similar to F.Pienaar's role as the captain of the Springboks?
Useful ideas: leadership/ inspiration/forgiveness/social prejudices/ believes.

I think that both were natural leaders who sensitive encouraged their partners ( Pienaar) and black and white citizen ( Mandela) to participate in building South Africa as a new nation.
They have also the same inspiration and the same believes , leaving behind their feelings of revange ( Mandela) or indifference ( Pienaar), Both heard disaproval from his teammates (Piennar) or friends and family( Mandela) , but they stand firmily behind that theory.
They trusted in each other althougt they didn´t meet before and were grateful to his partners ( Pienaar) for the victories and to the white people ( Mandela) for the education he received
Invictus is a latin word for invincible. And “Invictus” shows us two leaders, Mandela and captain Pienaar. Both have the nature of leader: passion, vitality, ethics and moral code to change the reality. Mandela has to make political, social and economics decisions to transform South Africa in a new country based on freedom and equal opportunities. He wants all person in South Africa live together in harmony without racial segregation. François Pienaar has to encourage his players to believe in their own powers and abilities to be the best team on the world. They can’t lose the match because this match represents the New South Africa. When the Springboks won an epic final over New Zealand, Mandela presented the trophy to captain François, a white Afrikaner, wearing the green and gold Springbok uniform. This victory was a major step in the reconciliation of white and black South Africans.
I think that Mandela and Pienaar have similar roles and responsibilitys as leaders. They are public figures that set a example to follow, because people take them as a reference. If they are in the in that position is because they are good persons that want to do right things and make souths africans prouds of their nationality.
Of course that been a Presidents has more responsibilitys than been the captain of a team. But in bouth cases they should have belives and work according to them.
From my piont of view, Fraçios took Mandela`s figura as an example and imitated his actitud of forgivness and removed all his social perjudices in relation to black people.

They were both leaders in what they do. But what they lead (a country and a rugby team) was broken, divided, and did not work in a good way.
Mandela and Pienaar's leadership was based in doing the correct thing, making the correct decisions to make it work, in spite of being against the team or the nation.
This kind of leaders are the ones who lead the people's actions or thoughts across the most correct road, which is always the most difficult one.
I think that Mandela´s job as the president of a Nation is similar to the capitain of the Springboks´ role, because both personify the leadership in the country and is very important for they to inspire their people to win support and acceptance between them.
They have to give an image of hope to their country trying to offer themselves as a role model for all. They are an icon of union in the country, both are a symbol of nation so they have to work hard to maintain that role they got and try not to disappoint anyone who trust in them.
I think both, Mandela and Pienaar shared the responsability of leading a group of people towards a change that they were unwilling to take: for Mandela it's leading the black popoulation of SA towards forgiveness, whites towards abandoning the prejudices they harbored, and both towards an unified society; for Pinaar, it's railing the team together as a team that wholly represents Mandela's rainbow nation, in effect, Mandela's task on a more personal level, for this, he's clearly inspired by Mandela's resistance to the hostility he was subjected to while in prison and his willingness to forgive.
We could say that both of them were in the same situation but at different levels, their teams were facing difficult times, many people didn´t trust them.Mandela as the country´s captain and Pienaar as the president of the rugby team had the important task of not dissapointing but encouraging their people and showing them that things could change if they wanted them to change. And that´s what leaders should do, encourage and guide.
I think both Mandela and Pienaar had to face a similar situation towards their people. I'm telling this because Pienaar didn't have to encourage his team to think they could do a lot better, but also had to prove to the dissapointed people of South Africa that they could do it. Also, they both had to lead their group of people and convince them that they could change how things were so far. They also had both the important and very difficult job of inspiring and instilling their beliefs to the people around them.

Being a leader is not only to guide the steps of the group members. It also mean to encourage them, to inspirate them, to make they understand why is necessary to achieve the final objective. This is a very difficult job. The leader needs to have a strong personality and I think both Mandela and Pienaar have it.
We could notice that Mandela and Francois they are both legitimous leaders. They both have the capacity to influence a group of people(even if this is a rugby team or a country),They can encourage, motivate their followers making them work together in achieving common objectives. Altough they work hard to get there;their sacrifices had been worth it cause now in this position of power may change many things.
Mandela and Francois both are strategists with huge humanity; They are part of two different areas such as sports and politics buth their ability and leadership role is the same and can show that when both areas, very important in lives of almost men get together can achieve positives changes (LF)
I think Mandela and Pienaar`s works are similar in the ways of leading their people, encouraging them to believe in theirselfs as a united nation and as a good team.
Mandela has to take the southafricans to the way of forgiveness and equality. He wants to build the Rainbow Nation.
Pienaar has to give trust to his team, they have to feel confident in what they can do. He wants the World Championship.
Both are great leaders with good and kind hearts. They aren`t selfish because they want the best for their people, the southafricans and the team.
